An Employers Guide to Dealing with Workplace Harassment

​This lunch and learn session will provide employers with practical guidance on how to identify and deal with harassment at work.

What to expect from this event

The session will also look at the forthcoming change in legislation which requires employers to take reasonable steps to avoid sexual harassment at work. There will be an opportunity to review the policies and information business owners and managers should have in place in relation to harassment.

From the end of October 2024 an amendment will be made to harassment legislation and this will mean that employers have a legal duty to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment. This means that just dealing with issues as they arise is not acceptable – employers must now take steps to prevent it.

In this session we will explore what the law says on harassment and the practical steps employers should take in this area.
