The Mental Health Foundation has chosen movement as the theme for this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week, and with good reason. Whilst we tend to think of movement and physical exercise in terms of physical health, gains and maintenance, movement has a huge role to play in our mental and emotional health also. Movement fuels our energy, enhances our organ health, aids our circulation and balances our sugar levels. It increases our resilience to stress, improves our sleep and enhances our mood. It even drives our social interaction.

Join Lianne Stewart as she guides us through a simple seated and standing stretch sequence to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week and bring some movement into our week.

Designed to stretch our main muscle groups, easing tension, finding space and ease in the body, slowing down, playing a little with balance, the practice is suitable for all and adaptations will be offered throughout. No prior experience or special equipment are needed, wear something relatively comfortable that you can move in from wherever you are.

This session will be held on Microsoft Teams.
