Alexis

Alexis is an experienced Business Consultant with over 28 years' experience in providing advisory services to the SME business sector in Scotland through Business Gateway and other public sector contracts on a one-to-one basis as a Start-up Adviser and through her role as trainer, part of that role involving developing and presenting Business Planning and Book-keeping workshops. From a background in Administration and having run her own secretarial company since 1987 Alexis has wide experience in managing budgets, staff training and introducing systems to client companies.

Alexis has an MSc. in Entrepreneurial Studies and is Premier Adviser accredited. She enjoys meeting and working with clients, helping them develop their business and assist in any way she can.

Barbara

Barbara joined Business Gateway in 2003. As well as achieving a BA in Hotel & Catering Management, an MPhil degree and an advanced Certificate in Public Health & Hygiene, she is Premier Adviser accredited. She has a strong business background, gained from working in a worldwide quality of life services company, and has first-hand skills in business training. With an exceptional knowledge of the operational aspects of managing a business, together with great interpersonal skills, she is very adept at encouraging clients to be confident in taking the decision to venture into running their own business.

As well as working as a start-up Business Adviser with Business Gateway, Barbara currently manages her own training consultancy business and delivers efficiency and effectiveness workshops to a wide range of public and private sector clients.

Mario

Mario has over 35 years proven experience in business and project management, business development and sales and marketing. With a working background in a variety of industries, including public and third sector, Mario has a wealth of experience to help clients develop and grow their businesses. He has worked as a start-up adviser, business growth adviser and trainer for many years, demonstrating strong strategic leadership and integrity.

Fluent in Italian and French, and with a basic understanding of spoken Spanish, Mario has catering and hospitality qualifications, a diploma in Business Advice and Counselling, and is Premier Adviser accredited. He has a pragmatic and realistic approach when working with businesses to assist them with their growth plans.
