Based in Ladybank, but able to travel, Amy aims to ensure that people understand their finances, because financial wellbeing is important to everyone regardless of their status. Speaking of her journey, Amy said, “Financial planning can be daunting for people. There’s too much jargon and this can lead to overwhelm. I aim to explain things in simple terms, and make finance as accessible as possible for everyone I talk to.”
Amy is currently serving as vice president of Fife Women in Business and has also set up the North East Fife business group. Open to anyone in business, male or female, it meets on the fourth Friday of the month at the Golf Inn, Ladybank. The group aims to share best practice, ideas, concerns and create a network of ‘colleagues’ who can support and educate each other. Now a partner practice of St James's Place Wealth Management and building her own client base, Amy is forging ahead. With women representing only 17% of registered individuals in financial services, and even fewer chartered, Amy is filling a gap in the market.
Business Gateway Fife adviser, Shona Morrison commented, “Amy has shown a real dedication to the business and I am impressed by her care and attention to the individual. I was delighted to assist her to secure a Start-Up grant for Marketing and will continue to give her one to one support as she progresses on her business journey.”
