How Business Gateway has helped

Ola Slater launched her business in 2020, and following this, quickly experienced challenges including a fear of failure and a lack of confidence in her skills.

She approached Business Gateway for help which included specialist 1:1 support from a dedicated business adviser. Her adviser signposted her to a local coaching programme where she was able to meet and network with other business owners across the local area.

Ola said, “When I looked to start my own business, I was worried about the possibility of failing. However, Business Gateway helped build my confidence, and through the team I was able to join a local coaching programme specifically for female entrepreneurs.

“This gave me the chance to meet other women who ran their own business and learn about their challenges and pitfalls. I also gained a supportive network of contacts who I’m still in touch with, and my business has gone from strength to strength.”  

Ola also accessed workshops which focused on starting up and DigitalBoost events. These helped her gain the knowledge to start trading and set up an online presence.
