Both funds have provided a vital lifeline to companies impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. They provide financial assistance to help businesses adapt to the restrictions or to help grow the business over time and can be accessed via the Business Gateway Falkirk team.
JC Timber Mouldings in Denny specialise in moulding and timber products, supplying to large industry timber merchants. During the COVID-19 pandemic there was a growing demand for their specialist products with more people spending money on home and garden renovations.
So, with an increase in demand for their products, they turned to Business Gateway Falkirk for advice and assistance. Within a few weeks they secured a Business Resilience grant of £10k to support the company’s expansion plans and create an additional three new jobs in the company.
Lynne Dougall, JC Timber Mouldings, said: “The demand for our products has been growing over the last year and to keep up with demand we had to invest in a second Wadkin moulder to improve our manufacturing lead times and increase our customer base while retaining our high quality standards.
“The financial support and advice we received from the advisers at Business Gateway Falkirk has been essential in moving forward with plans to grow our business.
“Installing a new moulder will help us achieve growth by maintaining a quick and efficient supply to our current customer base but also increasing our manufacturing output for growing our business.”
There’s still time to apply for a Business Resilience grant, this fund is distributed on a first come first serve basis so businesses are encouraged to get applications in as soon as possible.
The grants are funded by Falkirk Council.
