Established in 2006, MacFire is an independent fire protection company based in Barrhead, East Renfrewshire, specialising in the supply, installation, and maintenance of fire protection equipment and ancillaries for a diverse range of large and small businesses.
With more than 95 years of combined experience, MacFire’s aim is to deliver first class, cost-effective fire protection and prevention services which keep premises, staff, and customers safe, while ensuring the business fully complies with all relevant British Standards and current fire safety legislation.

How Business Gateway has helped
Business Gateway assisted MacFire with the preparation of its business plan and financial projections, as well as providing expert help in marketing to help the firm target medium-sized enterprises.
In March 2018 MacFire lost a major contract, amounting to over 50% of the firm’s 2017 turnover. Business Gateway helped the firm to refocus on its target customer base by implementing a tailored programme of support and providing access to a grant funding.
In addition, through Business Gateway and East Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce networking events, MacFire has engaged with new business contacts and won additional contracts.
