Launched at the start of this year, Roll Outdoors is based in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and provides a range of outdoors services.

Roll Outdoors was significantly impacted by the pandemic with the loss of the summer season and the team had to delay launching services related to the business because of restrictions.

The team received support from Business Gateway who provided advice on their business plan, company regulations, funding, and marketing and has since expanded its range of products available for hire, adding both paddle boards and canoes to the rental offering which have been popular with customers.

Maura Lee, owner of Roll Outdoors, said: “I am passionate about the outdoors, and have seen first-hand the mental health benefits that come from being in a beautiful and rich environment. It was this thinking that was behind us starting our own business.

“Unfortunately, the loss of most of the summer season was a blow and we had to delay launching certain aspects of the business which really affected everyone’s mental health. However, having access to sound advice through Business Gateway and knowing someone was there and cared really inspired us to keep going. Without it, I think we might have given up.”
