Support helped hydraulics firm mitigate COVID-19 impact

How Business Gateway has helped

ITC Hydraulics was faced with a 60% drop in revenue and the team’s relocation to new premises was cancelled when Scotland went into lockdown. The owners turned to Business Gateway for crucial guidance on how lockdown would affect the immediate future of the firm as well as advice on researching renewables and broadening their existing portfolio.

Business Gateway was able to signpost relevant funding and the business secured £100k through the Pivotal Enterprise Resilience Fund (PERF).

“We heard about some examples of the COVID-19 resources available through our network of colleagues in the industry, and so we got in touch with our local team. Since then, we have utilised a variety of key support services including expert insight and routes to funding amidst the pressures of COVID-19. Without the support from Business Gateway, company restructuring would have been inevitable. We are very grateful for the guidance and direction received during what has been the most challenging period in the company’s history.”

In addition to the support with government guidance and maintaining cash flow during lockdown, Business Gateway assisted with changes to operations, restricted access levels and increasing health and safety measures.

ITC Hydraulics plans to continue working with Business Gateway to broaden its portfolio and increase marketing activity, in particular through social media channels.
