Established in 2007, Galaxy Sports provide sports and leisure facilities to support the local community in the Falkirk and Grangemouth area.

How Business Gateway has helped

Founder Stephen Barr has worked with Business Gateway since its initial launch in 2007. Through the service, he has accessed various support programmes as the business has continued to grow into Galaxy Sports Little Kerse - an outdoor soccer pitch hire - and Galaxy Sports Tone Zone - a Health & Fitness Club.

As the covid-19 pandemic resulted in various restrictions on contact sports activities, Stephen approached Business Gateway for help to strengthen the company and support his growth strategy. With the expertise and guidance from Business Gateway’s team of advisers, extensive plans were established and set into motion for Galaxy Sports Little Kerse. These included concepts for allowing the facility to become more accessible to the community, such as the opening of The Nutmeg Café, offering a safe space for adults and children, as well as implementing environmentally friendly measures, following insight from sustainability specialists.

Galaxy Sports Tone Zone underwent a refurbishment to create an invigorated and inspiring space for members to workout in. As a result, the business is gradually rebuilding its membership to reach pre lockdown numbers. Stephen was also able to access funding after Business Gateway facilitated an introduction to members of Scottish Enterprise and Falkirk Council.

We have lots more exciting developments happening across the business in 2022, including an additional multifunctional indoor event space and new indoor sports facility complete with a health and fitness suite.
