About the business

Incorporated in July 1996, Cameron Drywall is a Specialist Dry Lining Contractor which has enjoyed a successful nineteen years in the varied fields of Drywall construction.

With a team of industry skilled employees, they have been able to undertake a progressively larger and more complex share of Scotland’s cutting-edge drywall projects.

As a company they employ 40 staff, plus additional subcontractors. Staff range from CITB approved apprentices to tradesmen and management, some with up to thirty years Drywall and associated trades experience.

As well as a longer-term commitment to college apprenticeships with a strong emphasis on social inclusion, owners Richard and Morag Steedman have grown the business to over £5m sales per annum in the last 20 years

How Business Gateway has helped

Richard Steedman, Managing Director of Cameron Drywall commented: “The support from Business Gateway has allowed us to take on more local staff, focus on developing new materials and build stronger relationships in the community. In particular, we are now working closely with West Lothian College in a number of ways including running taster sessions for schools to give pupils in S3 and S4 an insight into the construction industry.”
